The 104+ Performance/Sopwith Motorsports/Braunschweig Racing #117 Corvette will compete in Grid Life’s Alpine Horizon Festival at Pike’s Pike International Raceway this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with driver Stephen Cox looking to score his 18th road course win and the 24th of his career including ovals and dirt tracks.
Practice for the ultra-competitive GLTC class begins Friday afternoon with qualifications shortly after 3 pm Mountain Time, the first race at 8:20 pm and races continuing throughout the weekend.
“I’m delighted to be back with 104+ Performance and Braunschweig Racing,” Cox said. “The series and the track are new to me, but I’ve been working with Gold Eagle brands for many years and have a great history with Matt Peterson and the Braunschweig racing crew. They bring a good car to every race and I have tremendous confidence in them.”
Driving Braunschweig’s Corvette in 2015, Cox set a WRL track record at Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway that still stands. The team is coming off a solid podium performance at Road Atlanta last month but this weekend represents the team’s first foray into sprint racing.
