The Sopwith TV crew will hit the road this weekend to film the next chapter of the Pontiac Trans Am story.

One of only two 1969 Trans Am prototypes in existence will undergo a complete restoration beginning this weekend in Portland, MI, where Scott Tiemann of Supercar Specialties will oversee the work.

Both Tiemann and car owner Curt Richards will be interviewed on the car’s amazing history, which includes a stint as the personal automobile of 1967 Trans Am road racing champion Jerry Titus.

A television special is set to air later this year, as well as a series of online features with Pontiac’s original designer who created the Trans Am. Air times and details will be forthcoming this spring.
