Return to Midvale for Former Track Record Holder Stephen Cox

When the green flag drops on the “My Water Doctor Night at the Races” this Saturday evening at Ohio’s Midvale Speedway, Indianapolis racing driver Stephen Cox will be looking for his second win at the facility.

The final Northern Division round of the Super Cup Stock Car Series features twin 50-lap main events to be recorded for broadcast on the MavTV television network.

Cox’s most recent start at the track came in June 2017. He jumped into his teammate’s car after Cox’s primary machine was sidelined with a broken rear end, starting dead last in the field and charging to the front for his first Super Cup win and the 19th victory of his career. His three starts at Midvale have produced one win, a track record, a pole position and a second place finish.

Cox will drive for Mike Potter Racing with Southern Division champion and 8-time Super Cup winner Ben Ebeling as his crew chief, with support from 104+ Performance and STA-BIL Brand Fuel Stabilizer.

“I have a tremendous amount of confidence in Mike and Ben,” Cox said. “Mike’s cars are top notch and Ben’s record in the series speaks for itself. These are guys who want to run up front and have a reputation for doing so. And I’m going back to a track where we’ve had a lot of success. The racing surface and the track history are awesome but it’s the fans that really make Midvale special. Everyone there has been supportive and really cheered me on.”

Practice begins at Midvale Speedway on Saturday, August 10, at 3:30 pm with qualifying at 5:00, autograph session at 5:45 and racing at 6:30 pm.
