With only five days between race events, the short week in the ARCA Truck Series has produced several developments affecting Sopwith Motorsports.
ED CO Racing, developer of the original ARCA Truck chassis, has signed Sopwith's Stephen Cox to wheel the #20 Boschett Timepieces/Ed & Co. Racing Supplies Chevy S-10 in this weekend's ARCA Truck event. The new relationship begins Thursday when the team is scheduled to test at Columbus Motor Speedway.
Cox's first race with ED CO Racing will be Friday's JEGS.com 100 at Xenia, Ohio's Kil-Kare Speedway. It will be his third outing with the series, but his first with the new team.
This marks Cox's departure from his brief stint with Gearhart Racing, which he says came on good terms. “Thanks to Todd, Angie and everyone at Gearhart Racing for the opportunity they gave me. It was a short term deal and we both knew it, but I hope to leave the door open to work with them again,” Cox said.
The JEGS.com 100 is slated to begin at 7:30 pm at Kil-Kare Speedway. The telecast will air on TUFF TV and Motorsportworld.TV in October.
