The upcoming Mid-America motorcycle auction at Las Vegas is taking shape and the docket will be full of some of the most remarkable and historic antique motorcycles in existence.
Slated for the South Point Casino and Exhibit Hall on January 8-10, 2015, the bid lots already feature an incredible array of classic bikes from BSA, Indian, Yamaha and Harley Davidson from sources including the Gary Davis Collection.
"The motorcycle market is taking off," said Stephen Cox, whose company produced Velocity's MV Agusta special and now hosts NBCSN's coverage of Mecum Auctions. "The MV Agusta collection from Gary Kohs sort of set a new standard for bike collecting. Nobody had ever seen a single-marque collection that covered every model from a manufacturer going back half a century. That really got the market's attention."
A Yamaha TZ 750 dirt track racer from 1975 headlines a collection of classics that go up for auction beginning at 4 pm on Thursday, January 10th. Mid-America's parent company, Mecum Auctions, will hold their annual January collector car auction simultaneously in Kissimmee, FL with 3,000 vehicles for sale, televised live on NBCSN.
