TUFF TV to Televise 2012 Super Cup Season

Categories: TV News.

The Super Cup Stock Car Series will be televised on TUFF TV in 2012 according to a new agreement with Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions.

TUFF TV is the first digital broadcast television network to offer first run original programming targeted at men. TUFF TV features content that men are passionate about – sports, lifestyle, drama, reality, talk, specials and movies.

Super Cup racing will reach as many as 33 million US television households through its relationship with TUFF TV. Each Super Cup episode will air at least twice. Exact air times will be announced shortly, but the final three Super Cup races of 2011 could air as early as March followed by the initial 2012 episodes beginning in May/June. Every new episode will air in high definition, wide screen format.

MotorSportWorld.tv will continue to broadcast Super Cup races via the internet to supplement network television coverage.

Executive producer Stephen Cox said, "Super Cup asked for slow growth that made economic sense for their organization. We began by televising on the internet in 2011. By year's end we had upgraded the show to 1080i – the best form of high definition – in wide screen format. And we've started 2012 by moving to our first national television network. Super Cup wanted deliberate, incremental growth of their brand that would not have a negative financial impact on the race teams, and that's what we've accomplished."

Cox said a third network outlet would be added to the series' television package within a few weeks and the details would be forthcoming.
