"We are obviously very excited about this agreement," offered USAC President/CEO Kevin Miller. "We understand the tremendous property Indiana Sprint Week has become and the appeal it has with race fans across the country. It annually attracts fans and partciipants who travel many miles to become part of its rich tradition and history and we are pleased to be able to provide this additional exposure for them."
AMSOIL USAC sprint car racing features short track superstars including three-time champion Levi Jones of Tony Stewart Racing, midget champ and Indy Lights driver Bryan Clauson, and many more. Gates open at Gas City at 3 pm and racing at begins at 7:30. The series continues with six additional races over the next nine days. Network distribution for the USAC Indiana Sprint Week broadcasts has not yet been finalized, but a 13-episode series will go into post-production immediately after the last race at Haubstadt's Tri-City Speedway on July 16th.
"We're after a new look," said executive producer Stephen Cox. "We're using a docu-drama format that will highlight individual race teams. Of course, this will still be a racing broadcast. Its not a reality show. But viewers will be much closer to the action. We'll use extensive on-board cameras and spend a lot of time in the pits with the teams and crewmembers. You'll get to re-live the weekend just as the race teams lived it."
Indiana Sprint Week is a Hoosier tradition featuring seven races over a nine-day span. Essentially a series within a series, all seven events are part of the greater AMSOIL USAC Sprint Car National Championship.
The United States Auto Club is among the oldest and most respected organizations in motor racing and sanctions events including the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Silver Crown's Hoosier Hundred, and The Off Road Championship's title race at Crandon, Wisc.
Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions provides motorsports content to national networks including Fox Sports, Outdoor Channel and HD Theater. Sopwith's commercial client list includes B F Goodrich, Ford Motor Company and General Tire.
